Welcome  to  our site.   We  are one of 88 divisions chartered  by CalRTA.   Statewide there are 52,000 members of which close to  250 belong to our Mendocino County Division.   Though most  of our members live  in  the upper Russian  River   Valley anchored  by Ukiah and Willits,  a large number  of our  members  live along the scenic  Mendocino  Coast featuring  the major towns of Mendocino and Ft. Bragg.Because of the coastal mountains that separates these two population areas, we hold at least one meeting a year at Fort Bragg.

As implied by our core purpose, we are very active in respect to issues that impact our retirement benefits. We have a very effective State Legislation Committee and Legislatve Advocate, David Walrath.

In 2006, CalRTA PAC was formed to support positions on State Propositions that could effect our retirement benefits. For more information  about  our  stand on  Legislative issues , click the CRTA, Area 1, Action Alert or Legislation links in the left column.

Each member receives a newsletters  that  keeps them    informed on legislation, insurance, senior help, benefits, social events and general luncheon meetings. To see the latest issue, click the Newsletter link in the left column.

As  retired educators  who spent years helping students ,  that ingrained interest in assisting people within the community, has continued into retirement. Our members spend thousands of hours each year donating time to volunteer organizations.

As former teachers, we realize the value of socializing and staying informed. We have 4 regular luncheons. The schedule of our meetings is displayed below this paragraph.
